:There are a lot of mistakes, perhaps only one note per page with ''correct'' french will be better, if you want to improve the french part. This may be due to the incorrect spelling of an original manuscript in some cases. Maybe you should stay with the original text and put a note "French is consistent with the printed text but contains misspellings".
