Tenez-vous clos en vos logis;
Que tout bruit meure,
Quittez ces lieux,
Car voici l’heure,
L’heure du couvre-feu.

1. Couvre-feu (s.m.), curfew, in feudal times, the ringing of a bell at eight o’clock as a signal to put out all fires and lights.
