Mme de Savignac, one of the most prolific female writers of the nineteenth century, first published a novel. La Comtesse de Melcy, ou Le Marlage de convenance. She published several works for children, always keeping a geographical and historical perspective. She entered Journalism, first with articles in Le Bon G4nie a , newspaper devoted to youth; she followed these with works in L' Universelle, Le Courrier de I'Europe Le Journal des , Femmes, Le Gymnase Litt^raire and La Presse.
