ABORTIF, adj. avorté, qui est venu avant terme, ou qui n’a point acquis la perfection, la maturité. Fruit abortif. Voyez Avortement ou Accouchement. (L)

Abortif, adject. pris subst. est un enfant né avant terme. Dans le Droit civil un abortif, aussi bien qu’un posthume venu à terme, rompt le testament par sa naissance. L. Uxoris, cap. de post hæred. Instit. (H)
